Wispy. Black .
The swirling disembodied string
Drifted into sublime nothingness.
Leaving in its wake
An exhausted wick
In a charred earthen lamp.
Returning dust to dust
But from beyond the Styx
Will there rise the Phoenix ?
All aflame with energies anew
To rebuild a life he had bid adieu ?
If he does , then why did he leave ?
If he left , then why retrieve?

I quote from Neruda...
"I knew rooms full of ashes,
tunnels where the moon lived,
rough warehouses that growled 'get lost',
questions that insisted in the sand.
Everything was empty, dead, mute,
fallen abandoned, and decayed:
inconceivably alien, it all
belonged to someone else - to no one:
till your beauty and your poverty
filled the autumn plentiful with gifts."
The Phoenix in everyone seeks to rise from moments of rage, ravaged thoughts and ruined lives, seeking a new life, mostly someone who listens raptly to the dreams spoken, the dreams in words and deeds...
Burning question indeed...Shubha your word pictures are both very evocative and thought provoking too!
Very good. One day the Phoenix will realize he never burned down to ashes. Just like Pablo.

Ummm, may be to reacharge - or reload
A powerful one. Deep questions. I think the Phoenix really represents the fact that we can learn from our mistakes, renew ourselves.
rebirth is through reviving the ancient knowledge..
